Unité 1: Faisons connaissance.
This first unit is all about meeting new people in a new language--French! We will be learning the alphabet, numbers to 100, greeting people, asking & answering simple questions, and saying goodbye. We will learn how to do all of this in culturally acceptable ways.
Unit Outline
We cover a lot of material in every unit. In an effort to help students as well as myself be more organized and prepared for what is coming in each unit this year, I have created a unit outline. This outline gives dates and topics of quizzes, larger assignments, tests, etc. The dates and topics of quizzes and activities are subject to change based on how things are going in class (if there is an assembly or students don't understand something). Le Petit Livre de Français
To start off the year, we are making "Le Petit Livre de Français" which in English is the little book of French. In this book we will learn a lot of the basics of meeting someone new. You will want to keep your book with you until you have the contents committed to memory!
The best part of this project is that I explain how to make the book completely in French. This is one of the first exposures to the language and what makes it so great is that students are able to see that a lot of times even if they aren't completely sure what is being said, they can understand at least some of the language by using context clues and watching what is happening.
